Do porcupine quills work themselves out?

My dog got some porcupine quills in her face today. Luckily it wasn't too bad, and there was only about 10. So we got as many as we could out, but two of them didn't get out for sure because they were too small and my dog was moving around too much. Do they come out on their own? We won't be able to take her into the vet so I am trying to find a way to get those last few out of there.
