Guy friend- jerk or not?? HELP PLEASE!?

I just liked you are a friend. I think you got the wrong impression. He was worried, I think, about telling you he had a girlfriend. He may have wanted you to be his girlfriend in the beginning. But for some reason it never came to be. But he does still seem to care a lot for you. No he is not a jerk. Do not be mad at him. But do tell him not to keep something as big as this from you ever again.
