Why do people think that the Civil War was a battle of good versus evil?

The Civil war was a battle of greedy & lazy versus just greedy. The Union V. Confederacy clash was not motivated by morals as some historians like to make it out to be, it was motivated by a South whose economic powerhouse was slavery, and a North which did not enjoy the fact that the South had a an et they didn't. Even after the war finished, the Union side left, and Blacks were left to fend for themselves--with the only thing differentiating the new status from their former ones being flimsy laws that the Union did not care to enforce
