Too much left to mend?

the war in the middle east is starting to seem like an open box that we just can't seem to close without the help of other countries or the UN. afghanistan is in shambles, and so is iraq. iran is still funding terrorism in syria. not to mention, north korea is still a threat, and the unstable african countries are still out of whack. are we falling into quicksand with this surge or is it actually getting somewhere? is there any possible way to get other countries(even though they hate us) or, better, the united nations to help us out?
