How can i avoid or cirvent The no sublet clause in my rental agreement?
I live in a rent- stabalized month 2 month lase apartment. I'd like 2 have someone stay in it while I'm out Of town for The NeXT 10 months. However my landlord doesn't allow sublets. If i have an extended "house guest" - wink wink- who gives me cash on the side can i still be evicted or get into trouble? Is there a way to avoid or cirvent The no sublet clause in my rental agreement? Plus The apt lase also stipulates i can't live with anyone in my studio. Still if I have several "guests" or "friends" staying there throughout the Time I'm away might there be someway to make ot work? I'm going 2 be starting a new profession which would make me an independent contractor & I won't have The payroll salary which comes with a traditional Job. So giving up The apt could potentially leave me in a vulnerable position in getting a new rental apt.! I expect i will have money, substantial savings ( maybe equivalent 2 a years rent) and good crdit score however at this moment I'm not sure about having a guarantor in place. Of course another part Of me says give up The Albatross and move on. I mean in this climatrica there had 2 be a landlord who would take cash & take into consideration my business earnings right? Yes I'm projecting earnings. Still i mean if I did just stop The place there must be The possibility for a sublet or extended hotel or home rental option where people ar flexible, right? So can i possibly get past The rental clause if I play with thevwords & use the term guest or house sitter in an agreement? Or should I just drop it all & roll the dice, see what happens down the line. Also my landlords sniffing around the place. He noticed some stuff I put in storage & has already asked if I'm living in the apt. I can't afford 2 keep 2 places.
