Please, could someone tell me what "Shish Kebabs" are and how they taste?

They are grilled steak/chicken/pork/bacon on a stick with pineapple, peppers, onions etc. On the stick for flavor...I personally like them with pineapple, but I'm not sure how to describe them otherwise.
